These two signs are very different. They seem to get in each other's way more often than not when they act together. However, when they stand back and look at the other in action they can see what the other is trying to accomplish. The Fire of Sagittarian seems to scorch and wither all that the Taurean has worked so hard to achieve, while the Taurean seems too much of a plodder to appreciate the brilliance and verve of the Archer. There are other ways to look at it though. The Taurean can provide a solid home base for the Sagittarian to come back to when he is in one of his crestfallen phases, and the Sagittarian can provide optimism and insight that Taurean fold often can not find for themselves. It takes a lot of effort on both sides to achieve this. There must be a strong motivation for other reasons to keep the relationship together long enough for that kind of rapport to grow.As lovers you would be a lot more successful physically than you might think. It is the rest of the relationship that would need a lot of work. The trouble is that you need to feel that a person belongs to you and you to them. A Sagittarian belongs to himself and nobody else, and if you begin to get possessive, then he will go off and find somebody else. Even if he is pleased with you (and he is if he says so, he seldom lies) he will still entertain himself with new acquaintances of the opposite sex. Games and variety are very important and restorative to him. Having the same thing all the time makes him become depressed. He will choose to come back to you quite freely, but he can never be compelled to do so. Being totally loyal to him doesn't really count, therefor he sees you as a milestone. A Sagittarian really does need to be allowed to go his own way. If you trap him his fire will die. This will be useless if what you were trying to do was keep his warmth for your own private use.
As marriage partners, you will have to make room for their need to move around. Make sure that you give them both the space and opportunity to use it. The Sagittarian will need to realize that you need a base to return to, which is permanently and unchangeably yours. If you are married to a Sagittarian, or are considering it, then you have already found some other interest that is strong enough to hold you both together. Without a joint interest and goal, you will need to put in what is probably more effort than you would like to make a relationship work.
